Springtown police officer returns to SRO position

The badge and uniform is old hat to officer Frank Carroll, but it is one he has enjoyed for nearly 13 years.

Now, he has accepted an offer to return to the classrooms as Springtown High School’s new Student Resource Officer (SRO).
This is not the first time Carroll has worked for the school district. He previously spent four and a half years on the Mansfield ISD police department.
“There were twenty other officers besides myself; it was a large district,” said Carroll. “I really enjoyed my time there and found a niche working with students.”
During his time at Mansfield, Carroll completed all the required training of an SRO, a boon that vaulted him in the eyes of Springtown police chief Ed Crowdis.
“We were fortunate to have officer Carroll on hand to put into the position before the beginning of the school year,” said Crowdis. “Though we knew the position would need a replacement in the future, we weren’t expecting to fill it so quickly.”
