Pair arrested for tattooing minor
Wednesday, September 19, 2012

An anonymous tip sparked an investigation by Parker County Sheriff’s deputies that led to the arrest of a Springtown woman Sept. 13 and a Flower Mound man the next day.
The tip spurred deputies to investigate the involvement of Brian Lee Sporn, 39, of Flower Mound and Lydie Krenzke Mathers, 31, of Springtown, in the tattooing of a 14-year-old female. Sheriff’s reports indicate the tattooing of the child was done with the permission of the child’s mother, identified as Mathers. The tattooing of the child was not performed in a licensed facility, which is a violation of the law, Health and Safety Code 146.012. Reports also indicate this is the child’s third tattoo.
The charge states Sporn intentionally and knowingly performed the tattoo on a child he knew was a juvenile. A warrant was issued for Sporn. He was taken into custody and charged with tattooing prohibited for certain persons. He was released Sept. 14 after posting $2,000 bond. Mathers was also arrested and charged with two counts of tattooing prohibited for certain persons for the previous and existing tattoos. She posted $4,000 bond and was also released from jail Sept. 14.

The case remains under investigation. Child Protective Services was notified and is also investigating.
