Joe Dale Sampson, of Bellevue, passed away on May 27, 2021 in Fort Worth Texas.

A Celebration of Life will take place at 12 p.m. on June 19, 2021 at Stoneberg Baptist Church in Bowie, Texas with Preacher Larry Kennedy officiating.

Joe was born to Ezra Sampson and Amanda (Evans) on May 17, 1932 in Burkburnett, Texas. He graduated from Gunnar High School in 1949 and later attended TCU in Fort Worth, Texas. He married Wanda Burk on April 14, 1951 in Weatherford Texas. He and business partner Laverne Eastlake started their company Superior Specialty Maintenance Incorporated. He served as a deacon at the First Baptist Church in Springtown, Texas and later attended Stoneberg Baptist Church in Bowie, Texas.

Fondest memories include a mission trip he took to Africa, working on his farm and spending time with loved ones. His hobbies included reading, farming, gardening, and traveling with his wife, Barbara. Organizations: Member of Master Gardener Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 46 years, Wanda, daughter Tina Jo Thoms, and great grandson Marcus Sampson.

He is survived by wife Barbara Sampson, sisters: Jean Fewell, and Elsie Calhoun; sons, Doug Sampson and wife Rita, David Sampson and wife Louisa, Edwin Sampson and wife Karen, and Joe Sampson and wife Holly, as well as 12 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and many more family and friends.
