Donald Ray Wooten, age 86, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2023 in Springtown.
Graveside Service is 1:00 p.m., Monday, January 30, 2023 in Springtown Cemetery.
He was born July 21, 1936, in Fort Worth, Texas to Aaron E. Wooten and Edna Inez Wilson Wooten. He graduated from Northside High School in 1954. He married Carolyn Ledbetter in 1957 and they were longtime Springtown residents.
Donald retired from Lockheed in 1997 after many years of dedicated and
faithful service as a Fireman, where he was affectionately known as “Doc”.
After retirement, Don enjoyed being with his grandchildren and was known as “Papa Don” to them. He also enjoyed raising cattle on his farm until he passed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Carolyn; his son Rick; and his brother Charles.
Donald is survived by his children, Connie Hencke and husband Art, and Dusty Wooten and wife Sandy; grandchildren, Leslie Wooten (Stan Johnson), Amanda Adams (Rob), Bryan Hencke (Lisa), Brad Hencke (Julie), Blake Hencke (Hannah),
Clay Wooten (Allissa), Cole Wooten; five Great-grandchildren; brother, Gerald Wooten (Nancy); sister-in-law, Annette Mathis; and long-time friend, John Dobbs.
He was loved and will be missed and remembered by all those relatives and friends who knew him.
