I seldom set resolutions at the start of the year because, honestly, I never follow through. But I do try to set goals from time to time, and this year I set a goal of watching more movies and reading more books that are outside of my comfort zone.
“The Life Ahead” fits right in with this goal because typically a film that is the visual equivalent of a literary work is not my first go-to on Netflix. But I’m so glad I dove in to this one.
The film is directed by Edoardo Ponti, son of Sophia Loren, and is based on the novel “The Life Before Us” by Romain Gary.
